Hi there πŸ‘‹

Want to add an additional file to Waltio cause your exchange platform or crypto wallet is not supported? Here are the steps to follow :

Step 1: Download the Waltio file format (.XSLX).

Step 2: Please choose the type of transaction in column A (Type) between :

  • Deposit

  • Exchange

  • Withdrawal

πŸ’‘ You can find the definitions of each transaction type at the end of this article.

πŸ’‘ Here is a sample Waltio file containing transactions correctly populated, to provide you with a fair example by transaction type.

Step 3: Choose the date in the specific format herebelow in column B (Date)

31/10/2008 00:00

Step 4: In case the transaction is an exchange or a deposit, select the amount received in column C (Amount received).

⚠️ Columns containing numbers should be using commas, not points.

Step 5: Choose the currency or token you received (EUR, BTC, ETH, USDT, ...) in column D (Currency or token received).

Step 6: In case the transaction is an exchange or a withdrawal, choose the amount sent in column E (Amount sent).

πŸ’‘ Amounts sent are always net of fees.

Example: If you made a withdrawal of 10 BCH , including 0.1 BCH fees, 10-0.1 = 9.90 is the amount to be filled in in the column "Amount sent" and 0.1 in the column "Fees".

Step 7: Choose the currency or token you sent (EUR, BTC, ETH, USDT, ...) in column F (Sent currency or token).

Step 8: Select the fee amount in column G (Fee).

Step 9: Choose the fee token (EUR, BTC, ETH, USDT, ...) in column H (Currency or fee token).

Step 10 : Choose the Exchange or Platform (Phemex, PrimeXBT, CoinEx etc...) in column I (Exchange / Platform).

⚠️ It is mandatory to indicate the platform in capital letters (ex: BINANCE or COINBASE_PRO with an underscore(_). You can find all the platforms naming convention in a table further down in this article.

πŸ’‘ Informations in columns J & K (Description & Labels) are not mandatory as you will be able to complete them later on tax.waltio.co.

Step 11: Please drop the file on Waltio.

Choose "Tools".

Then choose "Waltio".

πŸ’‘ For margin trading type transactions, you should add a "deposit" if your long or short trade were profitable and a "withdrawal" if it ended in a loss by assigning the label "CFD".

πŸ’‘ Within the Waltio sample format file, the time must be filled in GMT. In the Waltio interface, we display the time based on the location of your connection. Example: if you added a transaction on December 15, 2021, at 2pm via the Waltio template and are in Paris, in Waltio it will appear at 1pm.

⚠️ The data must be entered in a "raw" way, i.e. without using a calculation formula.

⚠️ A withdrawal must always be associated with a deposit and vice versa.

Let's take a portion of a stock inventory sheet as an example:

After adding an exchange of 420 EUR for 2.339 ETH in a Waltio format, we receive 2.339 ETH on our Ledger.

This creates two ETH entry transactions in our total portfolio (EUR vs ETH, then ETH deposit).

However, we did not actually receive 2,339 ETH in our portfolio twice, but only once.

The deposit of 2.339 ETH on our Ledger, must be associated with a withdrawal of 2.339 ETH from Waltio.

This is what it should look like. The final stock value and the balance remain the same.

πŸ’‘ Here is the table concerning the addition of platforms to be filled in when adding transactions manually or via Waltio type file format :

πŸ’‘ It may happen that this type of format appears when we create clearing deposit transactions. This allows us to assign transactions to the correct platform(s) and thus correct insufficient balance type warnings.

πŸ’‘ If the standard format is not enough for you because you have still issues related to time zones, exchanged token prices, addresses, transaction hash or external ID, please feel free to use the advanced Waltio type file format.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us via the chat just at the bottom right of your screen! πŸ’¬
