Hi there 👋

In order to use the API, you need to generate a unique API key pair, using the following tutorial.

Step 1: Log in to your account on FTX

Step 2: On the "Profile" tab, click on "Settings".

Step 3: Under the "Main Account" tab, click on "API".

Step 4: Click on "Create API Key" and follow the instructions

💡 Waltio only requires "Read" permissions.

Step 5: Go back to Waltio and enter your API key

💡 Synchronization can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. While waiting for us to retrieve your FTX transaction, deposit and withdrawal history, you can deposit files from other accounts or connect other APIs.

💡 It is possible to add several FTX APIs on Waltio

💡 You have to add one API per sub-account (so don't check ALL, and create one API per sub-account)

Step 5-bis (optional): If you have a sub-account, add the sub-account name in the field provided on Waltio

⚠️ You have to enter the exact name in the "sub-account name" box (case sensitive) otherwise it won't work.
- We advise you to use another sub-account name than "CryptoTrader" which does not seem to work in the tool.

💡 For forward transactions (perp), we obtain the PNL directly. We therefore display directly the realized gains and losses.

💡 The loan and borrowing transactions are not automatically taken into account by API so we invite you to add them in the Waltio file format that you can find by clicking here.

⚠️ The FTX API (as well as the CSV files) do not differentiate between the USD stable token version and the USD fiat currency version.

💡 The solution if you want these transactions not to be considered taxable, is to change USD to USDT.

We cannot change our data reading and have "two" different USD. USD will always be considered a fiat currency in Waltio and therefore crypto<>USD transactions will always be considered taxable in our tool.

📫 We are aware that this greatly impacts the calculation of your capital gains. Our teams have been working with FTX to improve their transaction recovery tool. We recommend that you contact them with any difficulties you may have in recovering your data. We are convinced that if this request comes from their clients, it will be prioritized.

⚠️ If you add files containing trades read by API, then the relevant trades will be duplicated on Waltio. Our API gives you the choice if you already have FTX files in your Waltio account.

It will ask you to choose between two options:

1 - The recovery of all data since the creation of your BitMEX account.

2 - The recovery of all of your data since the date of your last transaction on your Waltio account.

⚠️ If you delete your keys or change the permissions, it will complicate the analysis.

1 - If you have already deleted your keys then we will not be able to synchronize

automatically. You will have to create a new one.

2 - If you have already modified your keys then we put in "disabled" mode the APIs encountering errors.

3 - If you correct afterwards, you will have to contact the support service via the chatbot at the bottom right of your screen because we perform weekly synchronizations.

4 - The deletion of the keys automatically leads to the loss of all the modifications (recording of labels, prices, etc...) made on the transactions recovered via API.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us via the chat just at the bottom right of your screen! 💬
