Interpreting the report balance

Updated over a week ago

Hi there πŸ‘‹

The Report Balance Sheet is a graph to visualize the evolution of your portfolio over time. It allows you to quickly compare the total net acquisition price (cash-in) to the value of the portfolio to the amount of sales (taxable event).

Definition

Total Net Acquisition Price: corresponds to the total investment in FIAT (state currency such as the euro) from which is deducted the fraction of capital initially contained in the total acquisition price.

πŸ’‘ The detail of this value can be seen in column Q "Total Net Acquisition Price" of the General Ledger. The value displayed (the last row) is the value of the fraction of capital originally contained in the total acquisition price (column S).

Total wallet value: Corresponds to the value of your total cryptocurrency portfolio. This figure should reflect the total value of all your wallets, exchanges, etc.

πŸ’‘ If this one is not consistent, there is a good chance that negative balances are present within your account, and you should investigate via the stock record (accessible from My Documents / My Reports) and correct them by running a new analysis.

Sum of taxable transactions: Corresponds to the sum of the taxable transfers made since the creation of your account. Thus, if the line on the graph is straight, then you have not generated any taxable transactions during the fiscal year under analysis.

The graph displays the data for one fiscal year (S1, S2... S52 are the weeks of the analysed fiscal year).

This dashboard is produced based on analysed and calculated data. It analyses year after year and does not allow for real time monitoring.

πŸ’‘ The values displayed on the chart are for informational purposes only and do not impact the calculation of your taxable gains or losses.

πŸ‘‰ We only recalculate the balance after each taxable transaction, so if there are no taxable transaction over several weeks, we will not calculate the balance of your portfolio over that period.

πŸ‘‰ We rely on the Sunday price to calculate weekly values.

This may explain differences between your produced documents (general ledger, schedule and stock sheet) and your chart.

This chart is not intended to serve as a real-time portfolio tracker. We are aware that this is a very requested feature and invite you to vote here, if you want this feature to be a priority.
