Bybit - API

Create an API on Bybit to automatically upload your transactions from Bybit to Waltio

Updated over a week ago

Hi there 👋

The API does not allow you to retrieve more than one year's worth of trades. In order to have all your trades present on your account, you will need to add the trades file and delete duplicate trades.

Step 1: Log in to your Bybit account.

Step 2: Click on your profile in the top right corner of the main page, then select “API”. You will arrive at this page.

Step 3: Click on "Create a new key".

💡 You're required to set up Google 2FA Authentication

Step 4: Enter a name for your API key, such as "Waltio key" for example; check the read-only box and the correct permissions.

Click "Submit" at the top right, then finalize the key creation by confirming the 2FA.

💡 We are aware that Bybit APIs keys without IP addresses expire after three months, however, you will not need to connect an IP address.

Your keys are created:

Step 5: Link your keys to Waltio

Credit card purchases, 'one-click buy' transfers and recurring purchases cannot be retrieved by API or file, and must be added in Waltio format.

⚠️ If you add files containing trades read by API, then the relevant trades will be duplicated on Waltio. Our API gives you the choice if you already have Bybit API files in your Waltio account.

It will ask you to choose between two options:

1 - The recovery of all data since the creation of your Bybit API account.

2 - The recovery of all of your data since the date of your last transaction on your Waltio account.

⚠️ If you delete your keys or change the permissions, it will complicate the analysis.

  1. If you have already deleted your keys, then we will not be able to synchronize automatically. You will have to create a new one.

  2. If you have already modified your keys, then we put in "disabled" mode the APIs encountering errors.

  3. If you correct afterwards, you will have to contact the support service via the chatbot at the bottom right of your screen because we perform weekly synchronizations.

  4. The deletion of the keys automatically leads to the loss of all the modifications (recording of labels, prices, etc...) made on the transactions cover via API.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us via the chat just at the bottom right of your screen! 💬
