Find and download its transaction history of a Bitcoin address

Updated over a week ago

Hi there 👋

This tutorial shows you how to retrieve your transaction history on the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain as well as for Bitcoin wallets such as MyCelium, XDEFI Wallet and Electrum for example.

Step 1: Retrieve the public key from the wallet.
- Go to the bitcoin wallet used

- Copy the wallet address (public key)

Step 2: On Waltio

- Go to “Storage Wallet”

- Click on “Bitcoin” then on “API key or address

- Paste the address of the wallet entered above

- Click on “Connect”

💡 We now support some XPUBs, to learn more, please follow this article.

💡 The holding of cold storage wallets (type Ledger, Trezor, Metamask etc...) does not need to be declared. Only accounts held abroad (exchange platforms such as Coinbase, Kraken etc...) must be declared using the form 3916-BIS.

⚠️ If you have imported transactions from a public key on Waltio and a file from Ledger Live, there is a good chance that certain operations are present in both transaction histories! This will therefore create duplicates (easily identifiable by looking at your stock card) that you will have to manually delete so that your capital gains calculation is correct.

To delete a transaction manually – in Step 2 – it is recommended to do the following:

On My Transactions (at the top of your screen) click on the transactions in question and then, click on the trash can.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us via the chat just at the bottom right of your screen! 💬
